Senior Data Centre Engineer - Heathrow Up to £60,000
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Data Centre engineer to work on a shift basis (Continental Days & Nights) to specialise in activities such as cross connects, localised patching, racking and decommissioning.
Job Duties
• Provide support for both pre-scheduled and reactive operational workflows at the Data Centre or, as pre-arranged, at other locations.
• Plan and optimise the efficient use of Data Centre space and cabinet utilisation in accordance with the Hosting Data Centre Standards.
• Prepare quotations in alignment with defined standards and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
• Mount servers, storage, and network equipment in cabinets, adhering to current Data Centre standards.
• Install Data Centre cabling for managed solutions and internal networks, following design documentation and utilising current copper, fibre, and patch panelling standards.
• Deliver pre- and post-sales support to relevant support specialists, Account Managers, and Service Managers.
• Manage Remedy/ServiceNow tickets, ensuring actions are completed within agreed internal OLAs or Customer Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
• Support governance activities by addressing any non-compliance issues and managing them to resolution.
• Investigate incidents and faults, identify root causes, and implement appropriate remedies.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports as required.
• Ensure corrective and repair work complies with current regulations.
Key Requirements
• Experience working in an operational Data Centre environment, including rack elevation design and handling server, storage, and network hardware.
• Skilled in the installation of network cross-connects and cabinet patching using copper and fibre cabling.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving faults in live customer hosting solutions.
• Strong understanding of the mechanical and electrical configurations within a Data Centre.

We are seeking a multi skilled Data Centre engineer to join a leading organisation in Acton, West London. You will be working as part of a small team providing Data Centre services to a prestigious International Financial organisation.
Responsibilities of our Data Centre Engineer will include:
• Working a 24x7x365 shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off, 4 nights on 4 nights off
• Change control management
• Incident management and resolution
• Management and tracking of Assets
• Supervision and escorting of 3rd Party Vendors
• Planning and implementation of all IT hardware installations adhering to strict Data Centre Standards.
• Planning and decommission of network hardware and structured cabling
• Updating all relevant documentation and inventories
• Completing all service requests, within the agreed SLA
• Compliance with ONNEC’s and Client Health & Safety procedures
• Compliance with Manufacturers, ONNEC’s and Clients Quality Standards
• Compliance to Clients and Support Services approved processes
• Ensure security procedures with reference to Data Centres are complied with.
Task Description:
• Maintenance of Data Centre toolsets that assist with support and management
• Management and governance over the DC
• Work closely with our facilities providers to maximise energy efficiency savings
• Successful day to day running of the Data Centre, including installations, decommissions, changes and maintenance
• Data Centre related service improvement projects
• Basic configuration of server (IDRAC, ILO)
• Fault finding and escalation
• Racking, stacking, moves, changes, decommissioning , patching
• Data Centre related major infrastructure projects including power outages and replacements
• Managing complex inter-rack/room cable infrastructure, providing a stable platform for IT infrastructure and desktop connectivity
What we’re looking for in our Data Centre Engineer:
• Experience of working in high-risk environments and Data Centres
• Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable)
• Experience of ServiceNow, Remedy or other ticketing system (desirable)
• Attention to detail and proactive
• Sound Knowledge of Infrastructure Technologies & Networking Concepts
• Competent in MS Office and Helpdesk/Service Delivery Applications
• A reliable individual and team player
• The ability to work under pressure
• Able to work on own initiative and unsupervised
• A flexible approach to shift patterns
• The ability to communicate clearly both written & verbally, at all levels
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills

Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer - Up to £52,000 per annum
Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer
East London (5 Days Onsite)

Stott and May are currently working with a Data Centre client who are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer currently working within a critical environment — or someone looking to move into one — to join a high-performing Data Centre operations team. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining uptime, compliance, and operational excellence across essential electrical infrastructure.
The Role
As part of the shift team, you will:
• Ensure all site electrical systems are operated and maintained in line with industry codes and best practice
• Deliver high-quality PPMs within agreed timeframes
• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault rectification across electrical assets
• Support installation and modification of site electrical services
• Maintain clear communication with the Shift Supervisor regarding plant status, isolations, and ongoing works
• Update and manage tasks via computer-based PPM systems
• Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards across plant areas and workshops
You will work across a broad range of critical systems, including:
• Building electrical installations (panels, circuits, equipment)
• UPS systems and associated controls
• Generators and control systems
• HV systems (training available if required)
• Emergency lighting and lighting control systems
• BMS
• Fire detection and suppression systems
• AHUs, VSDs, motors, HVAC, VAV, FCUs and split systems
What We’re Looking For
• C&G qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Services/Maintenance
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
• Experience within Building Services or a similar environment
• HV Approved Person (desirable)
• Confined Space trained (where required)
• Strong technical understanding of UPS, generators, static switches, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Clear communication skills and ability to work within a shift team
• Proactive, reliable, and highly organised
• Flexible approach to shift work and training requirements
